View through the Star - June 2025
Life, I’ve come to realize, is a series of moments - fleeting, yet profound snapshots that shape who we are and how we remember our journey. Recently, I’ve experienced two such moments that have left an indelible mark on my heart. First, the wedding of my son, the first of my children to tie the knot. It was one of the happiest and most joyous events of my life, filled with laughter, love, and the kind of emotional connection that makes time stand still. Not long after, I attended the funeral of my 103-year-old grandmother. While a moment of loss, it was also a celebration of a long, full life - a joyful reflection on her incredible legacy.
These events got me thinking about the moments that define us. They say that when we reach the end of our lives, our experiences flash before our eyes. I wonder which moments I’ll remember most vividly. I hope they’ll be the happy ones - the ones brimming with meaning, connection, and love. It’s a reminder to gather as many of these moments as we can, to seek out opportunities to connect with others, to get out and do things that bring us together.
For me, many of these cherished moments have come through our time together in the Peachtree Chapter of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America. I think back fondly to the car show at Amelia, where we marveled at stunning vehicles and shared our passion for the brand. I recall our mountain drives and outdoor picnics during the pandemic, when we found safe ways to stay connected in the midst of uncertainty. There were vineyard tours, like our recent visit to Wolf Mountain, and the privilege of exploring special car collections, such as this month’s tour of Karl Boegner’s garage. Each of these experiences has gifted me with memories of time spent with friends - moments that I’ll carry with me for years to come.
As we look ahead, I encourage each of you to join us in creating more of these meaningful memories. We have a fantastic lineup of upcoming events that promise to bring us together in celebration of our shared love for Mercedes-Benz and the community we’ve built. Mark your calendars for our first Saturday monthly Stars and Coffee at Halcyon, graciously hosted by our sponsor, the RMB Experience Center - now featuring a new coffee shop to enhance the experience! On June 21, don’t miss our MBCA Driving Academy, a valuable opportunity to learn what your car is truly capable of while gaining skills to keep your family safe on the road. On July 12th a mountain drive safari to Dawsonville. On July 19 is our annual member appreciation luncheon at Reformation Brewery in Canton. On August 1st, Gary Edwards will host us for a special visit to Kings Bay Submarine Base, an event that’s sure to be unforgettable. On August 9th, we’ll host a drive to benefit Southern Cross German Shepherd Rescue, combining our love for driving with a meaningful cause. And, of course, there are many more events in the works.
I invite you to join us in making happy memories—moments that might just find their way onto your “all-time greats” list. Whether it’s the thrill of a drive, the camaraderie of a shared coffee, or the joy of giving back, these experiences remind us of what truly matters: the connections we forge and the moments we gather along the way.
